The 2022 NFL Season Posted by poolmeister on September 17 2022
Coming up on the end of the second week, we are off and running on the 2022 season of NFL football. Week 1 started out with 6 upsets so any idea that the normal teams will be vying for the Super Bowl may have to be reconsidered. Then again, it's early and most teams that were upset will right their ship.
I am wondering if Tom Brady's return to football after that 4 month retirement will mean that Tampa Bay has a chance to win the Super Bowl with an aging quarterback. He is 43 years old and was never a very mobile quarterback so this will likely mean that if his offensive line doesn't hold, he could be in for a rough year. One thing I've learned about Tom Brady...don't take him lightly. He is full of surprises and taking the Bucs to the Super Bowl again is not out of the question. We will see, and in the meantime let's have some fun.
The 2021 NFL Season - Recap Posted by poolmeister on February 16 2022
Another year done and hopefully to everyone's enjoyment, especially if you won some money in the process. The payouts for this season are complete and the 2021 NFL season has come to an end. It seems like it just started but as with anything that is enjoyable...time usually flies.
Like many people (experts included) I wasn't expecting the Super Bowl to be a good game, even though I was happy that the Rams were in it. Surprisingly, it was one of the better games with a lot of excitement and suspense. Luckily for Rams fans, Matthew Stafford came through in the clutch and pulled the game out at the last minute. Cincinnati gave it all it had and was within 5 minutes of winning it outright. Joe Burrow showed that he is a force to be reckoned with and I am sure that he will make his presence known in future years.Don't be surprised if he takes his team to the Super Bowl again. See you next year.

The 2021 NFL Season Posted by poolmeister on October 02 2021
As we finish up Week 4 of the regular season, we can only hope that Covid-19 will not rear its ugly head again this year. Considering the effort put out by the NFL to ensure that last year's schedule was completed, I have high hopes that there will be a completed season this year.
As you probably know by know, the NFL has added an 18th week to the regular season, eliminating one of the preseason games. This move of course has moved the Super Bowl back one week into almost the middle of February. If last year's Super Bowl is any indication, it doesn't really matter when it is played, it should be a doozy. Will Tampa Bay repeat? I wouldn't put it past Tom Brady to win another one. Stay tuned.
The 2020 NFL Season - Recap Posted by poolmeister on February 16 2021
I'm late getting this news article posted since the SuperBowl took place 9 days ago but here goes anyway. Tom Brady did it again, and with a different team making everyone wonder if it was Brady that generated the New England dynasty rather than Bill Belichick. Brady has one more year on his contract with Tampa Bay and at this point, you can't assume that he won't do it again. We will have to wait and see.
As for the NFL season, many thought that it would not finish, that Covid would reign supreme but you have to give credit where it is due. After some early game postponements in the early weeks, the season went on pretty much as normal. As normal as you can have with no fans in the stands. This season also resulted in a larger playoff schedule with 14 of the 32 teams qualifying for the run to the Super Bowl. I'm not sure I am a fan of it but if it continues, we will all get used to it as we have gotten used to all the previous changes that have taken place. Let us hope that the next season will be a return to normal and that this pandemic can finally come to an end. Stay safe.
Hey Fred, I haven’t played in the last few years but is this the first time we have had a winner before the Sunday night game even began ? If so, I’m sure it hasn’t happened too many times.
